Inferno Protocol Updates

What changed on the way to Early Access, and what Tektonic says comes next.

Updates Hub

Inferno Protocol is in Early Access. That is not a marketing sticker. Three maze layers are playable, the demo is gone, and the studio has said they want community reports to decide what gets built next. This hub is the index for that moving target.

  • Patch notes — demo combat, content, build, and comms fixes that shipped before 28 August 2026, plus the demo takedown.
  • Roadmap — nine to twelve months of Early Access, four more biomes, price intent, and how to read achievement names like Winter without assuming they are live.

If you are here because a recipe broke or a lobby kicked you, start with patch notes, then the tools hub if it looks like a PC issue. If you are here because you want to know whether to wait for 1.0, start with the roadmap.

How this wiki treats Steam news

Tektonic posts on the Steam news hub. We rewrite from those posts, not from rumor. Dates that matter:

  • January 2026: announcement teaser.
  • June 2026: demo and Prologue during Steam Next Fest.
  • June–July 2026: combat feel, Giant Rat, cooking rewrite, notebook, traders, ultrawide, mic selection.
  • 19 August 2026: Early Access date confirmed, demo coming down 27 August, launch trailer promised.
  • 28 August 2026: Early Access begins. Demo removed around that window with a thank-you note.

We describe that sequence without pretending the game is a finished 1.0. It is Early Access. It is playable. It is not done.

What players should re-read after a patch

The guides hub is the evergreen manual. This hub is the changelog. Keep both. The maze will shift on a timer you do not control; the patch list at least comes with a date.

Reading the next Steam post

When Tektonic publishes, skim the title for one of four verbs: combat, creature, craft, comms. Combat posts rewrite melee feel and belong next to the weapons tier list. Creature posts belong next to the enemy ranking. Craft and cook posts belong next to crafting. Comms and netcode belong next to co-op and settings. A biome post is a roadmap event first; only then do we retitle navigation.

Do not treat a trailer as a patch. The announcement teaser and demo trailer are on the home page and getting started; they do not change recipes. Do not treat a review score as a patch. Mixed reviews at Early Access start are a mood, not a changelog line. If you only have time for one updates page after a Tuesday, open patch notes. If you are deciding whether to wait for Winter, open the roadmap and stay skeptical of achievement icons.
